Welcome to the year 2000 expedition page. There have been significant changes since last years voyage. This page will keep you up to date on any major changes to the site. If you wish to view the actual expedition members material go to the Updates page.
Tuesday, May 30, 2000: The new site has just been released. The team members will be departing this Saturday, June 3.
Friday, June 2, 2000: Erin picked up all the telecommunications equipment today, last tests of all systems including solar panels went well. Day was cloudy so the solar panel couldn't quite pass a required test, but it should be fine. One battery for the laptop is beginning to loose charge faster than expected, but there are two backups.
Sunday, June 4, 2000: First real transmissions from Erin and party have come in, everything operating well. Text file received, picture unfortunately corrupted.
Wednesday, June 7, 2000: NOAA and NASA have issued a Geo-Magnetic Storm warning for the next few days. This disturbance should provide excellent auroras in much of Canada, but it may also disrupt satellite communications severely. It may block the team from data-transmissions until the storm passes.
